How to Save a Marriage?
When the marriage is in trouble, people need counseling to treat the emotional distress and carrying back to well being condition. The anxiety, anger in marriage and conflict resolution are involved in couples who are undergoing and experiencing marital upheavals and problems. The conflict comes from different beliefs, wants different things from their lives, values, and ambitions or there is a traumatic event such as one partner cheating on the other. And the relationship may also suffer if the couple starts to drift apart and starts to feel like they aren’t connected anymore.
When the couple realizes the problem in their marriage and being desperately with the questions “How can I save my marriage?”, the counseling may be able to help. The marriage counselor could facilitate the conversation, to ask questions, to encourage active listening and to help both spouses to more comfortably express the hurt, anger or frustration that they are experiencing and it can be a difficult part when talk about emotions or situations that are painful.
Through the marriage counseling, couples will learn how to work together, how to appreciate their partner’s unique views and ways of looking at things, why the conflict does not have to be because of differences, learn the communication skills and how to disagree in a healthy way. The commitment and professionalism of the counselor is the key to solve the couple’s problems, but the partners must following the advices and being honest in their answers.
Some people usually do not like to visit the marriage counselor to talk about the marriage problem for the comfortable reason because it is too personal. They are looking for more comfortable ways such as buying a book about marriage help and advice to try to solve the problems by themselves. It is a human nature to protect their self and keep their personal problem for their own self.
