A Wine Cellar at Home

Aug 31st, 2010 Posted in Storage | no comment »

Wine is a drink that has the preference of many people, who like to stock up on a good selection of it. But the storage of wine requires some care so that it reaches the table in the best conditions. This is where you want to keep the wine for some time, if taken immediately; the kitchen is a good place to save it.

The care of wines requires a range of storage conditions that we must obey in order to preserve their properties be kept in the dark, because light can cause oxidation or deterioration. The storage temperature should not exceed 18 º C. It should be stored horizontally so the cork is kept damp at all times, without breaking and thus facilitating the smooth passage of oxygen. Because of all these factors, it is advisable to store the wines in the refrigerator or the kitchen, it is not the best option, keep them in a special refrigerator in which they are sold, but we can build a warehouse in our own home.

Our warehouse does not have to be large or occupy the basement, but we can do it under a ladder, in a small room in use, or in a cupboard acclimated. But if you have a basement, it’s much better. We must also bear in mind that the winery should be colorful and decorative; it can not ruin the decoration of the house.

Winery Features:

For the preservation of wines, the winery must take into account the temperature, humidity, darkness, lack of odor impregnating or intense, and the rest of the wines. For these conditions, the most appropriate place to locate the store will be underground or semi-buried. It can never be a garage or a workshop, due to the presence of odors and vibrations that occur at these sites.

This may not seem an important detail, the orientation of the cave is. The ideal orientation is the north and the sun does not directly impact the temperature changes involved, and the worst is its opposite, south. The ideal place is underground or semi-buried. The ventilation is very important too, can be achieved through a duct to the outside or through a shunt. The walls must make a perfect thermal and acoustic insulation. The interior walls should be painted white and covered with cement plaster and yodel. Insulation systems are applied that may be of fiberglass or polyurethane foam. The soil must have hygrometric properties, so it is advisable to do so with a material capable of absorbing moisture, such as porous ceramic tiles. But the ideals are rammed earth and sand. This type of champagne is very difficult to achieve due to cost and space requirements.

For a winery located in an apartment, avoid the kitchen, the dining room or living room due to odors, temperature and noise. Therefore we will select an interior room or hallway, where we will build a small bottle with insulation.

Our warehouse must maintain certain storage conditions:
- Stable temperature between 10 and 15 º C.
- The daily fluctuation of the temperature should not exceed 2 ° C.
- The relative humidity should be in the vicinity of 70%.
- The bottles are stored horizontally.
- The racks should be wood or materials not conduct heat.
- The light should be avoided by using carbon-filament lamps or indirect cold lights.
- There should be no foreign odors such as paint, fruit, cooking odors, sausage, etc.
- Avoid noise and vibration damage for wines.
- It is necessary to air and ventilate the place where wines are stored.

We must remember that white wines in general, pink, the champagne and sparkling wines, fine wines and chamomile, young wines and some reds, can not be stored for more than a year, because his life is short. Reserve wines are those that reach the greatest length and can reach twenty.

Furniture Design in the Kitchen

Jan 15th, 2009 Posted in Furniture, Interior Design | no comment »

kitchen-designThe kitchen is a workspace, but also one of the most inspired design in a house. We took a few weeks talking about what the furniture design that makes a stay, the main cabinet, who has the responsibility to convey the prevailing type of decoration in each room. However, following the same question of a few people how is your kitchen? We were surprised to realize that in all cases, the first information that I gave was the color of it. Well, my kitchen is red, or white, or wood. I have concluded that everyone says that the design in the kitchen cabinet is not a specific but material and the color used.

Rustic kitchen, the material used is wood. They are usually not too bright, and almost all the doors and drawers have trim moldings and frame each piece. The result is a warm and homey kitchen, a bet on the traditional, always conveys quality.

In contemporary aspect of housing, it is very normal to find white kitchens with little risky, but almost always provide good aesthetic results. Kitchens are looking clean, neat, and aseptic.

The modern kitchens are extremely bright and intense colors, like black, red, purple and green.
The surfaces of all its modules are smooth and sometimes allow us to capture them on drawings or illustrations that customize a determinant of our cuisine.
In urban households, distributed type loft, it is normal to find with kitchens made from material such as stainless steel cold, transmitting an industrial aspect.
This is a resource used in homes like New York, where the decor is based on daily life, which requires quick to do and undo anything. This type of cooking, almost do not change their appearance when they are not being used.

In kitchens of the Mediterranean, the color is usually clear, and with furniture that looked very often stressed by the presence of windows. The result is a kitchen and natural light.

The retro style, as in the last decade, is also a reality in the world of cooking. Finishes bright, colorful appliances are the unmistakable stamp of the turn at 70. A vintage style that makes your kitchen is a mixture of almost all the above.

The decor is more extreme always risky, but not everyone dares to it. For them there is also an ideal type of cuisine that instead of leaving it a style of decoration makes perfectly clear the style of their owners. Cuisines are rich in variety mixtures.

In another article mentioning how to choose the color of the kitchen answering a few simple questions. The variety of colors is very extensive, so there for all tastes and styles. Now I present a series of orange kitchens exclusively. Different shades of a color, which create different environments depending on their brightness, lighting and furniture of the place. In this case we see a half shade of orange, not too intense, you can call it pumpkin orange. That combined with soft furnishings in cream with a very harmonious and comfortable interior. The orange is ideal for good lighting to show off its charm.

orange-kitchenOther interior details pumpkin with white frames and baseboards, which is essential to define and distinguish him from the wooden floor. Steel furniture generate a much more modern and functional in the previous case, but the orange brings warmth to your environment. Now the tone changes to something like a peach or coral. Combined with modern furniture in high-contrast black and white. Maintains a balance between the very modern and warm home.

A strong orange tone as the previous image can give a special touch in a kitchen and a small paperback. Combined with natural stone and wood. And as we see in color to paint the walls, it is important that the orange carrot is accompanied by a neutral tone like white or gray broken ice. The latter highlights perfectly the intense hue, create space and provide lighting.
There is no doubt that the orange color was a landmark in the design of the 70s, so include furniture and accessories or objects of daily use could create environments or retro vintage.
And in this case the tile. Earthy shade of orange, but turned off but may look very attractive to those who do not want to live in such a tone interior. In this example we can see a corner of an environment in which the color to create a special section on a white interior.
